Nestled among rolling vineyards and lush nurseries in the heart of Ohio Wine Country, Madison Village is the perfect blend of peaceful country charm and easy access to the finest cultural experiences along the north coast.
Our own His Majesty's Bed & Breakfast sits on land originally purchased in 1823 by John Kellogg and later passed down to his daughter. The current home, a true piece of history, was built in 1861 by Dr. Nathaniel Holbrook after marrying Mary Kellogg.
Every season brings its own magic at His Majesty’s. In the fall, soak in the vibrant colors of autumn. Spring and summer? Perfect for sipping wine on the front porch, wandering through our private garden, or taking a leisurely stroll through the quaint village square.
Madison Village is perched on the eastern edge of Lake County, just a stone’s throw from Ashtabula County and all its wine country delights.

The Grand River Valley Wine Region
Tucked along the picturesque shores of Lake Erie, the Grand River Valley Wine Region sprawls across Lake, Ashtabula, and Geauga counties in Northeast Ohio. With over 30 wineries calling this region home, it’s a wine lover’s paradise offering a delightful variety of cool-climate wines. Whether you crave a crisp Riesling, a buttery Chardonnay, a bold Cab Franc, or a smooth Chambourcin, there’s a bottle (or two) waiting for you.
Each winery brings its own vibe—think cozy boutique spots with intimate tasting rooms or grand estates with vineyard views for days. One thing they all have in common? Warm welcomes. More often than not, you’ll meet the owners themselves, and don’t be surprised if you leave feeling like part of the family.

Several restaurants and shops are just a short walk from His Majesty’s Bed & Breakfast, making it easy to grab a bite or browse local boutiques. If you’re up for some outdoor adventure, the Lake Metroparks offer beautiful spots to stroll by the lake, hike wooded trails, enjoy a picnic, or marvel at waterfalls. Birdwatchers, take note! This area is part of the Lake Erie Birding Trail, with 84 birding hotspots along Ohio’s north coast.
Looking to explore further? Lake, Ashtabula, and Geauga counties are filled with unique specialty shops and antique stores. In Ashtabula County, you’ll find more than 20 picturesque covered bridges and plenty of barn quilts dotting the countryside—a perfect excuse for a relaxing drive.
